Three-dimensional, non-destructive testing.
For Computed Tomography (CT) the sample is x-rayed while turned by 360° in usually several hundred steps. From the images gahtered, a three-dimensional model of the sample can be reconstructed, that can be viewed slice by slice and therefore reveals – non-destructively – the complete inner structure of the sample. The electronic model can be virtually manipulated, which allows characteristics, features and defects of the structures to be displayed and evaluated without overlapping.
