Our submitted research project: Process optimization using generative AI, virtual autonomous optimization and simulation-based machine learning for the foundry 4.0 “SimMaLearn” was approved by the Austrian Research Promotion Agency GmbH.
The aim of this research project is to use artificial intelligence methods such as neural networks in conjunction with casting simulation in order to
- replace computationally and time-intensive simulation sub-processes with AI,
- use generative AI for the autonomous generation of optimized or bionic shapes for cooling systems,
- develop hybrids from numerical simulation and simulation-based machine learning models.
As part of the project, the establishment of a “Simulation and AI” working group is planned in order to present the results to the participating companies. The working group will deal with general questions and assistance in this area. The kick-off meeting will take place on October 15th.
